Buenos Días. A chilly but sunny Friday in Evanston. Happy Cubs game day (see ya in the bleachers), but also Happy:

  • National Historic Marker Day (good thing I’m going to the federal landmark)

  • National Hug A Plumber Day (I would, but the last plumber at our house was a walking cigarette)

  • National Hairball Awareness Day (huh?)

  • National Arbor Day (look at a tree today, why don’t ya)

  • National Zucchini Bread Day (I think zucchini might be my all-time least favorite vegetable)

It’s going to be another shorter edition today, as I have somewhere to be this Friday at 1:20. Also, there likely will not be a Saturday edition. Maybe, but probably not. Keep the Sabbath holy or something. Regardless, let’s have a day:

I guess polls are a premium beehiiv feature, and my trial just ended, so check Instagram for today’s QOTD. (This is definitely not just me stalling for time to think of a good one).

I forgot to post on Instagram until this morning, but I got one vote in the email replies for time travel thanks to the lucrative financial possibilities. Very clever.

LETTER FROM THE EDITOR

Decent update from the sports world today. I hope you won’t miss me too much tomorrow. Who knows, maybe I’ll surprise us all and get something out there. Don’t get your hopes up though. I’m still brainstorming more changes to other sections, so keep your eyes peeled.
