May 22nd, 2025 // Vol. XXVI // Glory, Glory

Good afternoon. Yesterday’s morning publication time was an anomaly. Welp. Happy:

  • National Solitaire Day (legions of bored students and employees must be rejoicing)

  • National Craft Distillery Day (good luck finding any “normal spirit” from one of these—everything is infused with lavender or jalapeños or spit or something)

  • National Buy A Musical Instrument Day (as a graduation gift to my roommates, I was thinking of buying a harmonica. They’ll really enjoy that right? Right?)

You’ll quickly notice a theme to the newsletter today, but let me prime you for it now: Tottenham Hotspur won the Europa League yesterday, and it’s basically all I can think about. Almost this entire volume will be dedicated to that feat, with a few quick sidebars for the news and Northwestern Women’s Golf, who were also crowned champs yesterday. With that in mind, let’s have a day:

New Takes in:

The 1984 Tottenham squad after lifting the UEFA Cup (now the Europa League). They beat Anderlecht 4-3 on pens in the second leg to claim the club’s second UEFA Cup.

Tottenham after winning the 2008 League Cup. This was the club’s most recent trophy… until yesterday.

Yesterday’s Results

Yesterday’s poll expired before I even woke up, but I hope that y’all are being loyal to your barbers. I’ve only let one man cut my hair for the last 10+ years, and for good reason. He’s honestly the only man I trust to touch my locks.
