Howdy. It’s supposed to reach 103 in Houston today, and I’m so excited. I asked about hot vs. humid the other day, but there’s nothing worse than both. Welcome to Houston, and Happy:

  • National Cooler Day (something I’ve learned from my time in the north is that the best cooler is placing the case of beer in the great outdoors and letting nature do its thing)

  • National Lucky Penny Day (anyone else grow up thinking that a found penny was only lucky if it was heads up?)

  • National Road Trip Day (the older I get, the more I appreciate road trips… and this gives me an idea for QOTD)

  • National Don’t Fry Day (this is about sunscreen, but for a second I thought it was a campaign against fried foods. I’m glad it’s the former.)

The term “laptop” earns its keep today. I’m out and about, but I’m determined to get this out and have the first 5/5 week in a while. So for the fifth day in a row, let’s have a day:

LETTER FROM THE EDITOR

I was hard pressed to get this one done, so forgive my tardiness. I also want to take a second to note that today is my sister’s high school graduation. I’m super, super proud of all of her hard work and tenacity, and can’t wait to watch her excel at the next level. Love ya kid, and Sic ‘Em Bears.
