Howdy. It’s actually nice and sunny in Evanston today (perfect pickleball weather). I must have willed it into existence with all of my complaining yesterday. Anyways, Happy:
National Beverage Day (seems pretty broad. I’m pretty sure everyone reading this will inadvertently celebrate anyways. My bev of choice today is iced tea with some lemon—I feel like my grandma)
National Teacher Appreciation Day (I’ve been so lucky as to some wonderful teachers over the years, some who even read this newsletter. Thanks to them and all the other teachers who do so much hard and underappreciated work.)
National Nurses Day (another very important group whose work can tend to go unnoticed)
National Foster Care Day (wow, we’re covering our bases honoring valuable members of the community day)
National [Redacted] Day (I’m not honoring another random ass dessert. Taking a stand once and for all (it’s crepe suzette, whatever that is))
I’d like to apologize for missing Square Root Day yesterday. All the Cinco de Mayo hype kept me from realizing that it was 5/5/25. If The Daily Boofy is still around on 6/6/36, I promise to make a massive deal about it. Also, friends are dropping like flies in Senior Assassin, and it’s lowkey a lot funnier to be out and just watch. I’m still out for revenge though, so with that in mind, let’s have a day:

If you could go on vacation anywhere in the world tomorrow, where would you go?

interesting, interesting. As my roommates know, I’m titled as far as can be to the movie side of the scale. I’ll give a lengthier explanation as to why soon, but know that this is a hill I will die on.
LETTER FROM THE EDITOR
I’m traveling starting tomorrow, so we might be a little inconsistent over the next week. I’ll try my best. Perhaps I’ll do some one-off blogs instead. We shall see.
Tomorrow (5/7) is also the first day of Real ID requirements at the airport. I cannot wait to see how many people do not realize this. Will give a report if it’s funny.
It’s also cool to get to the 20th volume of TDB. Thanks for all the support so far, and get ready for more!
As always, email me with any column requests or content ideas. Now, it’s a great day to have a day. Drink plenty of water. Go outside. And remember: the greatest gift of life is simply being alive. Make the most of it.
Hasta mañana.
